Auditions

Zeitgeist Stage announces auditions for their 2012 winter & spring shows.  Auditions are Tuesday 11/8/11 & 11/15/11 at the Plaza Black Box Theater at the BCA

Performance Dates:

Wednesday through Sunday

  • Time of My Life by Alan Ayckbourn, 2/10/12 - 3/3/12
  • Tigers be Still by Kim Rosenstock, 4/13/12 - 5/5/12
Rehearsal Start Date:
  • Time of My Life:  December 2011
  • Tigers be Still:  March 2101

 

Performance Location:  Plaza Black Box Theater at the Boston Center for the Arts.
Rehearsal Location: In the greater Boston area; locations will be accessible by public transportation

Time of My Life Synopsis: Time of My Life starts at a birthday dinner party for the family matriarch and then spins off into several threads.  The family matriarch and husband continue in the present, their older son and his wife's story progresses in the future, while the younger son and his girlfriend's story goes backwards in time to how they first met.

 

Time of My Life Roles:

  • Laura Stratton, F, 50-60, family matriarch
  • Gerry Stratton, M, 50-60, her husband
  • Glyn Stratton, M, 30-40, their oldest son
  • Stephanie, F, 30-40, Glyn's wife
  • Adam Stratton, M, 25-35, the youngest son
  • Maureen, F, 25-35, Adam's girlfriend
  • Waiter, M, 20-60, Plays the role of 5 different waiters in the restaurant

The play is set in London and all characters speak with a British accent.  Accents are not required at the audition. 

Tigers be Still Synopsis: A recent Art Therapy major gets her first job, now if her sister could get off the couch and her art therapy patient didn't have a crush on her things might go better.  A quirky, Off-Broadway hit from last season in a New England premiere.

Tigers be Still Roles:

  • Zack, M, 18-20, a recent high school grad
  • Joseph, M, 50, the high school principal, Zack's Dad
  • Grace, F, 29, she's on the couch watching Top Gun repeatedly because of a broken engagement

Audition Information:

Dates: Tuesday, 11/8 & 11/15, 7-9:30 PM

Location:  Plaza Black Box Theater at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont St.

Information:  Open to Non-Equity performers. There is a stipend for performing in the show. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.
